Paul Turner
Paul Turner was born in 1917 and educated at Winchester and King’s College, Cambridge. He served in the RNVR during the war and later taught English literature at universities in London, Cambridge, and Ankara before joining the Oxford English Faculty in 1964. He became an Emeritus Fellow of Linacre College, Oxford, and wrote on the Victorians as well as translating works from Greek, Latin, and German.
