Paul Scott

Paul Scott was a British novelist best known for his tetralogy The Raj Quartet, which examines the decline of British colonial rule in India. After serving in India during World War II, he drew upon his experiences to craft narratives exploring themes of imperialism, race, and human relationships in a colonial context. His novel Staying On won the Booker Prize in 1977, though he achieved greater critical acclaim posthumously when The Raj Quartet was adapted for television.
