Paul Monette

Paul Monette (1945-1995) was an American author, poet, and gay rights activist best known for his memoirs exploring homosexual relationships and the AIDS crisis, including Borrowed Time: An AIDS Memoir (1988) and Becoming a Man: Half a Life Story (1992), the latter winning the National Book Award for Nonfiction. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he graduated from Yale University in 1967, taught at schools in New England, and later moved to Los Angeles where he became a prominent AIDS activist following the death of his partner Roger Horwitz.[1][2][3]
