Paul Heyse
Paul Johann Ludwig von Heyse (1830–1914) was a prominent German writer, dramatist, and translator, celebrated as the first German recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1910 for his consummate artistry and idealism. He mastered the novelle, producing over 150 novellas, eight novels, 68 dramas, and numerous poems, becoming a defining figure of 19th-century German literature. His works, including 'L'Arrabbiata' and 'Children of the World,' blended classical conventions with themes of romance and idealism.
