Patti Smith

Patti Smith, born December 30, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter, author, and photographer who rose to prominence with her 1975 debut album Horses, becoming a key figure in the New York punk rock movement.[1][4] She fused rock music with poetry, influencing punk and drawing from Beat writers like Allen Ginsberg, and later wrote acclaimed works including the memoir Just Kids, which won the National Book Award in 2010.[2][4] Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, she continues to create timeless art across multiple disciplines.[2][4]
