Patrick W. Carr

Patrick W. Carr is a fantasy author known for his acclaimed series The Staff and the Sword, including A Cast of Stones, which won the 2014 Carol Award for Speculative Fiction, along with other awards like the Christy, Inspy, and Clive Staples.[1][3][4] Born on an Air Force base in West Germany, he graduated from Georgia Tech in 1984, worked in engineering roles including as a draftsman at a nuclear plant and for the Air Force, and now teaches high school math in Nashville, Tennessee, where he lives with his wife Mary and four sons.[4][5][6] He began publishing after developing his debut novel around 2009-2010 following a writing breakthrough.[2]
