Patrick H Corrigan

Patrick W. Corrigan (April 19, 1956 – January 11, 2026) was an American psychologist, author, and advocate for people with mental illness, specializing in stigma research. He authored over 15 books and 400 peer-reviewed articles, including 'Don't Call Me Nuts: Coping with the Stigma of Mental Illness,' and served as Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His personal experience with mental illness informed his focus on psychiatric rehabilitation and stigma reduction.
