Patricia Lakin

Patricia Lakin is a prolific children's book author who has written more than 50 books, including titles in the Made by Hand series such as Guitars, bikes, skateboards, and steel drums.[1] A former elementary school teacher, she was born in Boston, Massachusetts, where she grew up as an only child with a pet dog named Skippy, and now lives in New York City.[1][4] She is recognized for her engaging biographies and other works for young readers, with honors including selections by the Bank Street Children's Book Committee.[3]
