Pat McKissack

Patricia C. “Pat” McKissack was an American children’s author known for more than 100 books exploring African American history, historical fiction, biography, and folklore. She often wrote with her husband, Fredrick L. McKissack, and her work earned major honors including Coretta Scott King awards and a Newbery Honor.
