Pamela Holmes

Pamela Holmes was born in Charleston, South Carolina, moved to England at age eight, lived on a Somerset commune, studied nursing at London University, worked as a journalist and reporter, and campaigned for older people's rights. She won the Chawton House Library Jane Austen Short Story Award in 2014 and debuted with her novel *The Huntingfield Paintress* in 2016, followed by *Wyld Dreamers* (2018) and *The Curious Life of Elizabeth Blackwell* (2022). A mother of two boys, she lives in London with her husband, tends an allotment, works in dementia care, and sings in a rock band.[1][2][5]
