P H. 1831-1899 Colomb

Philip Howard Colomb (1831–1899) was a British Royal Navy vice-admiral, naval historian, critic, and inventor. He was born in Knockbrex near Gatehouse of Fleet in Scotland and is best known for his influential writings on naval strategy and sea power.
