Otto Weininger

Otto Weininger was an Austrian philosopher born on April 3, 1880 in Vienna, who published the influential and controversial book *Geschlecht und Charakter* (*Sex and Character*) in 1903. The work argued that all people are composed of a mixture of male and female substance, with the masculine element deemed positive and moral while the feminine was negative and amoral. Weininger died by suicide on October 4, 1903 in Vienna at the age of 23, shortly after the book's publication.
