Oscar Castillo
Oscar Castillo is an award-winning Chicano photographer born in El Paso, Texas, best known for documenting East Los Angeles and the Mexican-American experience. He graduated from California State University Northridge and completed film production studies at UCLA in 1974, subsequently working as a freelance photographer and media artist. His extensive archive of over 4,000 prints at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center represents the largest collection by a Chicano or Latino photographer in the United States.
