Ophera Davis

Ophera A. Davis, Ph.D., is a public intellectual, interdisciplinary social scientist, affiliate faculty at Historically Black Colleges, and a leading disaster expert specializing in African American experiences.[1][2] She is the author of 'Overlooked Hurricane Katrina Mississippi Black Women Survivors Resilience and Recovery,' the only longitudinal study in America on Hurricane Katrina women survivors, bringing attention to the obscured narratives of Southern Black women.[1][4] Born in the Mississippi Delta, she continues her work as an author and scholar.[5]
