Olivia Campbell is a journalist, essayist, and New York Times bestselling author specializing in the intersections of medicine, women, history, and nature, with her work appearing in publications such as The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and New York Magazine. She began writing mysteries as a young girl, trained as a ballet dancer before pivoting to arts journalism after an injury, and shifted focus to medicine following a complicated pregnancy and postpartum depression in college. Campbell holds a master’s in science writing from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s in journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University, and she lives in the Philadelphia suburbs.
