Old Farmers Almanac
Robert Bailey Thomas, born in 1766 in Grafton, Massachusetts, was a schoolteacher, bookseller, and amateur astronomer who founded the Old Farmer's Almanac on October 13, 1792, blending literary skill with celestial knowledge to create an enduring reference for farmers.[1][2] The almanac became an instant success, selling 9,000 copies of its second edition in 1794, and he edited it for 54 years until his death in 1846.[1] It remains the oldest continuously published periodical in North America, featuring weather forecasts, planting charts, astronomical data, recipes, and advice.[3][5]
