OECD Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1961 as a successor to the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (OEEC), which was established in 1948 to administer Marshall Plan aid for Europe's post-World War II reconstruction.[1][3][5] Headquartered in Paris, France, it serves as a forum for 38 member countries—primarily high-income democracies with market economies—to compare policies, promote economic growth, trade liberalization, financial stability, and sustainable development while coordinating aid to developing nations.[1][4][7] Its motto is 'better policies for better lives,' and it provides evidence-based analysis and recommendations on global challenges.[5][8]
