Norman Hardie

Norman David Hardie QSO (1924–2017) was a renowned New Zealand mountaineer who participated in the 1955 British Kangchenjunga expedition, reaching the summit of the world's third-highest peak on May 26, alongside Tony Streather. He served 22 years on the board of Edmund Hillary's Himalayan Trust, visited the Himalayas 14 times, led expeditions to Antarctica, and received the Queen's Service Order in 1992 for community service.[1][3]
