Norman Cohen

Norman Cohen (born December 13, 1936) is an American writer and chemist who has made significant contributions to folklore and music history. He worked as a chemist at Aerospace Corp. and served as executive secretary of the John Edwards Memorial Foundation, while also authoring and editing numerous works on American folk music and railroad songs. His research earned him a Folklore prize from the University of Chicago and a Deems Taylor Award in 1982, and he was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1983.
