Nigel Planer

Nigel Planer is a British actor, writer, comedian, and musician best known for playing the hippie housemate Neil in the BBC sitcom The Young Ones (1982-1984) and Ralph Filthy in Filthy Rich & Catflap. A founder member of the Comedy Store Players and Comic Strip, he has written novels such as The Right Man and Faking It, non-fiction books like A Good Enough Dad, and over 100 episodes of The Magic Roundabout. Planer has also appeared in West End musicals including Evita, Chicago, and Wicked, and received a BRIT award in 1984.
