Nazim Hikmet ,

Nâzım Hikmet was a pioneering Turkish poet, playwright, and novelist, widely regarded as the father of modern Turkish poetry and one of the most important international poets of the 20th century. Born in 1902 in Thessaloniki (then Ottoman Empire), he lived much of his adult life in exile due to his communist beliefs, eventually settling in Moscow where he died in 1963. His works, translated into over fifty languages, are celebrated for their lyrical flow and dedication to social justice.
