Nancy Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi (born March 26, 1940) is an American Democratic politician who has represented California's 11th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1987, becoming the first woman elected Speaker of the House (2007–2011 and 2019–2023).[3][4] Daughter of Baltimore politician Thomas D'Alesandro Jr., she graduated from Trinity College in 1962, raised five children in San Francisco, and rose through Democratic ranks before entering Congress.[2][4] Key achievements include architecting the Affordable Care Act, American Rescue Plan, and numerous bipartisan measures on health care, gun violence prevention, and veterans' benefits.[1][3]
