Muzaffar Alam
Muzaffar Alam is the George V. Bobrinskoy Professor in South Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago. He is a historian specializing in medieval and early modern South Asian history, with particular expertise in Mughal political and institutional history, Indo-Islamic culture, and Indo-Persian travel accounts. Before joining the University of Chicago in 2001, he taught for three decades at the Centre for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
