Mr James Dyer

Sir James Dyer (1510–1582) was an English judge, Speaker of the House of Commons in 1553, and Chief Justice of the Common Pleas from 1559 until his death.[1] He served as MP for Wells and Cambridgeshire, was called to the bar in the 1530s, and became the first law reporter with his 'Dyer's Reports,' covering cases from 1513–1582 and establishing the system of legal precedent.[1]
