Morris Weitz

Morris Weitz was an American philosopher of aesthetics and literary criticism best known for arguing that 'art' is an open concept, meaning it cannot be defined by a fixed set of necessary and sufficient conditions. He taught at Brandeis University as the Richard Koret Professor of Philosophy until his death in 1981.[1][3][5]
