Monica Grenfell

Hon. Monica Margaret Salmond née Grenfell (1893-1973) was a British nurse, debutante, and author, born in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, as the eldest daughter of Baron Desborough; she trained as a nurse during World War I, serving in France and nursing wounded soldiers including gas casualties. She married Air Marshal Sir John Maitland Salmond in 1924 and wrote her autobiography *Bright Armour* along with *A First Book of First Aid in Peace and War* (1957).[1]
