Molly Garrett Bang

Molly Garrett Bang is an American author and illustrator of children's books, known for her picture books inspired by folktales from various cultures and her innovative use of visual storytelling to convey emotions and scientific concepts.[1][2] Born in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1943, she studied French at Wellesley College and earned master's degrees in Oriental studies from the University of Arizona and Harvard, then lived abroad in Japan, India, Bangladesh, and Mali while illustrating health manuals before focusing on children's literature.[5][2] Her acclaimed works include 'When Sophie Gets Angry—Really, Really Angry…,' a Caldecott Honor book, and science-themed titles like 'Common Ground' and 'My Light.'[2][3]
