Mitchell B. Reiss

Mitchell B. Reiss is an American diplomat, author, and academic administrator who served as Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the U.S. State Department from 2003 to 2005 under Secretary Colin Powell and as President George W. Bush's Special Envoy for the Northern Ireland peace process from 2003 to 2007, attaining ambassador rank.[1][2][3] He has held presidencies at Washington College in Maryland and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and previously roles at the College of William & Mary including Vice Provost for International Affairs.[2][3][4][5] Reiss authored three books on nuclear nonproliferation and terrorism, including *Negotiating with Evil*, holds a D.Phil. from Oxford University, J.D. from Columbia Law School, and B.A. from Williams College.[2][3]
