Milton Murayama

Milton Atsushi Murayama was a Japanese-American novelist, playwright, and short story writer renowned for his vivid depictions of the Nisei experience on Hawaiian sugar plantations. His debut novel, 'All I Asking for Is My Body,' published in 1959, became a classic of Asian American literature and earned him multiple awards. Murayama is also known for his tetralogy exploring immigrant life, which includes 'Five Years on a Rock,' 'Plantation Boy,' and 'Dying in a Strange Land.'
