Michel 1901-1999 Seuphor
Michel Seuphor (1901–1999), born Fernand Louis Berckelaers, was a Belgian-born French abstract painter, art critic, poet, and writer who became a key figure in the interwar art scene and a leading advocate of geometric abstract art. He founded influential journals like Het Overzicht and Cercle et Carré, published the first monograph on Mondrian, and obtained French nationality in 1954.
