Michael Underwood

Michael Underwood was the pseudonym of John Michael Evelyn, a British barrister and mystery writer born in Worthing, Sussex, England. Educated at Charterhouse School and Christ Church College, Oxford, he served in the British Army during World War II and later worked in the Department of Public Prosecutions until his retirement in 1976. He authored numerous detective novels from 1954 to 1993, featuring characters like Inspector Simon Manton and Rosa Epton, renowned for their realistic legal depictions.
