Michael Hartland
Michael Hartland is a British author of mystery, crime, and suspense novels, born in 1941 in Cornwall. He worked in British Government service from 1963 to 1978, including roles as Private Secretary to Jennie Lee and in Margaret Thatcher's planning unit, before serving as Director of the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna until 1983, after which he became a full-time writer. He created the characters David Nairn and Sarah Cable, also writing under the pseudonym Ruth Carrington, and has been a book reviewer and travel writer for major publications.
