Michael Gruber

Michael Gruber was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, earning a BA in English literature from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in marine sciences. He worked as a marine biologist, cook, speechwriter, White House policy advisor, and ghostwriter for the Butch Karp-Marlene Ciampi series before becoming a full-time novelist in 1990, known for blending thrillers with philosophical, supernatural, and historical themes. His notable works include the Jimmy Paz trilogy, The Book of Air and Shadows, and several standalone novels; he lives in Seattle with his family.
