Michael Francis Gilbert
Michael Francis Gilbert (1912–2006) was a British solicitor and prolific author of crime fiction, mysteries, and thrillers. His writing career spanned over fifty years, during which he published approximately 30 novels and nearly 200 short stories, drawing authenticity from his experiences as a World War II veteran and legal professional. He received numerous accolades including the Edgar Allan Poe Grand Master Award and the Cartier Diamond Dagger for lifetime achievement.
