Michael Burgan
Michael Burgan, born March 15, 1960, in Hartford, Connecticut, is an award-winning American author specializing in historical nonfiction, biographies, and books for children and young adults, with over 250 titles to his credit.[2][3][4] He began his career as an editor at Weekly Reader in 1988, left in 1994 to freelance, and focuses primarily on history, science, geography, and adaptations of classic novels.[1][2] A University of Connecticut history graduate, he also serves as editor of The Biographer’s Craft newsletter and resides in Chicago.[2][6]
