Michael Blackmore was a self-taught artist and historian from Abergavenny, known for detailed illustrations of historic and industrial scenes, especially subjects tied to canals, railways, and industrial archaeology. His work was commissioned by organizations including Blaenavon World Heritage Site, Brecon Beacons National Park, British Waterways, and Canal & River Trust, and he also illustrated projects for author Alexander Cordell.
