Merry Wood

Mary Wood, born the thirteenth child of fifteen in Maidstone, Kent, in 1945, grew up in a loving but poor family that resettled in Leicestershire after the war. An avid reader, she began writing in 1989 while nursing her mother, faced rejections until self-publishing on Kindle in 2011, and was signed by Pan Macmillan in 2013 for multiple book deals. Married for over 54 years with four children and numerous grandchildren, she splits time between Blackpool and Spain.
