Merry McInerney

Merry Reymond (also known as Merry McInerney and Merry Whiteford) was an American author born in Massachusetts in 1959, renowned for her prize-winning short stories and three novels: 'Burning Down the House' (as Merry McInerney), 'Dog People' (as Merry McInerney-Whiteford), and 'If Wishes Were Horses' (as Merry Whiteford). She was briefly married to author Jay McInerney from 1984 to 1990 and later to Neil Whiteford in 1995. Merry suffered a massive heart attack on December 4, 2020, and passed away in Cary, North Carolina.
