Mensun Bound
Mensun Bound is a British maritime archaeologist born in Stanley, Falkland Islands, best known as director of exploration for expeditions that rediscovered Sir Ernest Shackleton's ship Endurance in the Weddell Sea in 2022. Known as the 'Indiana Jones of the Deep,' he has conducted wreck surveys and excavations worldwide over a 40-year career, including locating the German flagship SMS Scharnhorst in 2019. He founded the first academic unit for maritime archaeology in England and served as the Triton Fellow in Maritime Archaeology at St. Peter's College, Oxford University from 1992 to 2013.
