Mehdi Dahkan
Mehdi Dahkan is a Moroccan self-taught choreographer and dancer born in 1998 in Tangier, whose work interrogates socially constructed behaviors and ideologies within the contemporary Maghreb social landscape[1][2]. He founded the dance company Jil Z (formerly Génération Z) in 2019 and currently lives and works between Morocco and France[2][5]. His choreography questions body politics and the politics of space by integrating urban and contemporary practices, often inspired by social issues confronting Moroccan, Arab, and African youth[2][3].
