McDermott
Alice McDermott is an acclaimed American novelist and essayist, born in 1953, known for her poignant explorations of love, family, and Irish-American life. Her works include 'Charming Billy,' which won the National Book Award, and 'Absolution,' which received the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award. She currently serves as the Richard A. Macksey Professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
