Max Brooks

Max Brooks is an American author and screenwriter, best known for his zombie-themed novels including The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, which helped bring zombie lore from niche subculture to mainstream pop culture. He is the son of filmmaker Mel Brooks and actress Anne Bancroft, and has also served as a fellow at West Point's Modern War Institute. Brooks suffers from dyslexia and anxiety, and his meticulous research into disaster preparedness often influences his fiction.
