Maurice Leblanc

Maurice Leblanc (1864-1941) was a French novelist and journalist best known as the creator of the fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, often compared to Sherlock Holmes. Born in Rouen, he began his career writing psychological fiction before achieving success with Lupin's debut in 1905 in the magazine Je sais tout, leading to over twenty volumes of Lupin adventures. He received the Légion d’Honneur for his literary contributions and continued writing until his death.
