Matthew Sylvester

Matthew Sylvester (c. 1636–1708) was an English nonconformist cleric born in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, son of mercer Robert Sylvester. Educated at Southwell grammar school and St. John's College, Cambridge, he published sermons including contributions to the Morning Exercises series and works like The Christian's Race.[1]
