Matthew Joseph Bruccoli
Matthew Joseph Bruccoli (1931–2008) was an American literary scholar and professor of English at the University of South Carolina, renowned as a leading expert on F. Scott Fitzgerald, authoring the standard biography *Some Sort of Epic Grandeur* in 1981. He wrote or edited over 100 books on American authors including Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Wolfe, John O'Hara, and Raymond Chandler, and co-founded the *Dictionary of Literary Biography*. Bruccoli established major collections of Fitzgerald materials and World War I items at the University of South Carolina.
