Matt Pavelich

Matt Pavelich is a novelist, short story writer, and attorney from Montana who was born in St. Ignatius, Montana and grew up on a ranch on the Flathead Indian Reservation[1][2]. He attended the University of Montana, the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the Northwest School of Law, and is the author of the short story collection Beasts of the Forest, Beasts of the Field, which won the Montana First Book Award, as well as the novels Our Savage and The Other Shoe[1][3][4]. Pavelich lives and works in Montana and has received Michener and Montana Arts Council fellowships[3].
