Mary Olmstead

Mary Seymour Olmsted (1919–2018) was an American diplomat who served as the first female U.S. ambassador to a Pacific Islands nation and the first American ambassador to Papua New Guinea. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, and later served in key diplomatic roles from 1975 to 1979.
