Mary MacCarthy

Mary Therese McCarthy (1912–1989) was an American novelist, critic, and political activist known for her sharp wit and satirical examinations of intellectual life. She is best known for her novel "The Group," as well as her essays, reviews, and influential presence in mid-20th-century American literary circles.
