Mary Lyn Ray

Mary Lyn Ray is an American children's book author and conservationist known for her lyrical picture books that explore humankind's relationship with nature. Born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1946, she grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, earned an A.B. in American Studies from Smith College in 1968 and an M.A. in Early American Arts and Culture from the University of Delaware in 1970, and resides in South Danbury, New Hampshire. Her acclaimed titles include Stars, Pumpkins, Shaker Boy, and Welcome, Brown Bird.
