Mary Jo Putney is a New York Times bestselling historical romance author born in Upstate New York who has published over 60 books since 1987. Known for her psychological depth and exploration of complex themes such as alcoholism, death, and domestic abuse, she has won multiple RITA awards and received the prestigious Romance Writers of America Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. She studied English Literature and Industrial Design at Syracuse University and has also written contemporary romances, paranormal historicals, and young adult fantasy under the pen name M.J. Putney.
